Electronics and garment enterprises need over 16,000 workers

Enterprises in Vietnam’s north are in need of over 16,000 electronics and garment workers, a job transaction session on August 3 heard.

The online event connecting the cities and provinces of Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Phu Tho, Bac Kan, and Lang Son attracted the participation of 161 businesses seeking to recruit 27,695 employees in total.

Bac Giang has the highest demand, with 17,244 jobs on offer, mostly in electronics and garments. The province also topped the list in the previous session, on July 25, when it sought to recruit nearly 17,500 workers.

A report reveals that Bac Giang needs to recruit about 60,000 workers in the second half of the year.

The province is followed by Ninh Binh, with 3,701 workers needed, Phu Tho with 1,850, Hai Phong 1,584, Bac Ninh 1,557, and Hanoi 1,088.

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, unskilled workers remain the most sought after, with 10,681 positions available, followed by workers with intermediate qualifications and technical workers, with 9,422 positions, and workers with college or university degrees or higher.

In terms of occupation, workers in electronics and garments are in high demand, with 9,412 and 6,923 positions available, respectively. Other positions are for guards, cleaners, sales and marketing agents, engineers, storage keepers, cashiers, and administrative workers, among others.
