Akamatsu said that this month Hitachi Asia would deliver ten elevator and escalator sets according to contracts signed with shopping centers in Vietnam.
Hitachi products are now used at large constructions in Asia and the Middle East such as Changi International Airport in Singapore, Atlantis hotels in the United Arab Emirates and the International Finance Center in Shanghai, Akamatsu told reporters at the Intercontinental Asiana Saigon Hotel in District 1.
Target customers of the company are a wide range of construction projects, from civil to industrial ones, said another executive of the company.
"We will focus on infrastructure projects in Vietnam such as railway systems, thermo-electric and nuclear power plants, the oil refining industry and transportation works," said Yasuniori Taga, chief executive and chief information officer for Asia of the Japan-based corporation.
He explained that "We change our focus to infrastructure areas with the hope that our turnover will increase."
Akamatsu also revealed Hitachi would operate its large cable plant in Vietnam.
Hitachi, with offices in Hanoi and HCMC and a factory in the country, provides a variety of products from home supplies to equipment for different industries.
